Declaration

This declaration sets out the terms and conditions for participation in the Road Ready initiative, delivered by 5FOLD in partnership with TURSA.

Agreement and Acknowledgement

  • Indemnity: TURSA indemnifies 5FOLD and Road Ready against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs or expenses that may arise from the participation of its referred participants in the Road Ready initiative.
  • Program Delivery: If a participant is accepted into Road Ready, TURSA acknowledges that 5FOLD will provide practical driving support lessons, theory-based driving education, and road safety workshops.
  • Fees: A non-refundable fee of $65 per participant will be charged to TURSA for each support lesson delivered.
  • Lesson Arrangements: All learner drivers must meet at the 5FOLD premises to commence their lessons and use the individual log in details to book lessons. Learners are responsible for making their own way home after the lesson.
  • Binding Agreement: TURSA, participants and parents/carers agree to be bound by this declaration and the agreement signed at induction.
  • Liability Clause: 5FOLD and Road Ready accept no liability for any injury, loss or damage sustained by participants, parents/carers or third parties arising out of or in connection with participation in the program, except to the extent caused by the proven negligence of 5FOLD or Road Ready.
  • Licence Outcome: Participation in the Road Ready program does not guarantee the learner driver will obtain a driver’s licence.
  • Mentor Standards: Road Ready provides trained volunteer mentors who have current police checks and hold a valid Blue Card authorising them to work with minors.
  • Participant Behaviour: TURSA participants must conduct themselves in a calm and respectful manner at all times. Road Ready mentors reserve the right to refuse or discontinue lessons if a participant displays aggressive, disrespectful or violent behaviour. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
  • Eligibility: A valid learner licence and logbook must be presented before any support lesson can commence.
  • Drug and Alcohol Policy: Road Ready maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illicit drugs and alcohol, including prescribed medication that may impair driving ability. Mentors may cancel or reschedule a lesson if a participant is deemed unfit to drive.
  • Driving Test and Infringements: Road Ready does not accept responsibility for the outcome of any driving test. Road Ready is not liable for any traffic infringements, fines or penalties incurred by the participant during a test or lesson. These remain the sole responsibility of the learner driver or their legal guardian.
